Information You Submit
A name, location, or other term entered into a search box is sent to the third-party provider operating that tool. Hampton County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider's policy controls its handling of the query.
An email or contact-form message is retained as needed to answer it. Message content is not shared outside the organization unless required by law.
Automatic Technical Data
Ordinary web operations may record technical details when a page loads:
- Internet Protocol address;
- browser name and version;
- device type and operating system;
- pages viewed and time spent;
- referring page, when available; and
- date and time stamps.
Cookies help measure how visitors use the site. Browser controls can reject or remove them, though some features may then work differently.
Purposes for Using Data
Collected data may be used to keep the service stable and responsive, route a search to the selected partner, understand which Hampton release-record pages are useful, diagnose faults, prevent abuse, and display advertising that may reflect a visitor's interests.
Websites Beyond Our Control
Links lead to Hampton County offices, South Carolina courts, SCDC, DPPPS, SC VINE, federal locators, release-record sources, and outside search services. After a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy policy governs.
Some advertising companies may use their own technology to follow activity across websites for interest-based ads. That processing occurs on their systems, not on this site's records.
Parties Receiving Data
Personal data is not sold. It may be handled by:
- search partners processing a submitted query;
- analytics providers measuring site use;
- advertising networks delivering ads; and
- law-enforcement or government authorities responding to a valid legal order.
Security Measures
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used. No internet-connected service, storage method, or transmission can be guaranteed fully secure or free from a breach.
Visitors Under Eighteen
This service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may use the Contacts page to request deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and the ability to verify the request, a person may ask for a copy of personal data held, correction of inaccurate data, deletion, or an opt-out from certain processing. Browser and device controls may also restrict cookies and advertising identifiers.
Changes to This Notice
This Privacy Notice may be revised as practices or legal duties change. A new effective date will appear here when an update is posted.
